2010 - My belly at 24 weeks pregnant!!!

Wedding anniversary #2!

Time sure does fly... when you are having fun! I'm sure I have said this before, but I still remember when I had been married for one day. I thought to myself "how cool will it be when people ask me how long I have been married for, and I can say something like "oh two years!.." Well that didn't take long! And here we were! For our anniversary #2 we did something low key because I was feeling very "pregnant," and we were saving money for the baby...and it was my year to plan our anniversary, hahaha. We went miniature golfing in South Jordan and we later had dinner at the Gateway (at a pretty good Tex-Mex restaurant). I gave Zane one of the new Joseph Smith Translation books, and he gave me flowers, coupons for dinner and jewelry. He painted my toe nails because I could not bend over! After dinner, I was pretty wasted, so we headed home (we thought about going to see a movie...but I would NOT have made it!). We had such a wonderful evening together! I love you Zane and I am SO happy to be your wife forever!!!

The Friedel's came to visit!

Jimmy and Dawn had a wedding here in SLC, and they stayed with us. This meant that we got to meet little baby JR!!! He was ADORABLE!!! As always, it was so good to see them and visit with them!

Easter 2010 at Reece and Haley's!

We celebrated Easter at Reece and Haley's in 2010. It was them, the Fails, Haley's sister, their friend, and us. Back then, they lived in a cute little apartment in Wymount. Haley was such an awesome chef, and she prepared a cute little Easter activity with plastic eggs that I have copied since for every Easter we've had. We had such a wonderful time celebrating the resurrection of our Savior!

Zane was called to the Bishopric

So back in April of 2010, Zane received a phone call from one of our Stake Counselors asking for him and me to go to an interview with him. And so we did...in the interview, the Stake Counselor asked Zane if he would be willing to serve as a 2nd Counselor in the Bishopric and asked me if I would support him. I think we both just sat quietly with a dumb look on our faces. After a minute, we realized he wasn't joking, so we promptly told him we would be happy to! And then Zane proceeded to ask him... are you sure you want me? Then we told him about how unqualified and clueless we felt about all of this. He was very nice and supportive, and read to us D&C 121. It was a very humbling experience for both of us. Zane's parents and siblings, and the Malzls (my uncle and aunt and their family) came to his setting apart and also participated in Zane's ordinance as a High Priest. Zane's dad ordained him as a High Priest. It was SUCH a neat experience! Our Stake President, who had been Zane's Philosophy teacher back at BYU, gave him a most beautiful blessing as he set him apart. What an inspired man! This would mean, that from now on, 28 year old Zane would be sitting in High Priest meetings with "older" men (no offense). After the ordeal, we enjoyed a pot luck at our house, and realized how much work was ahead of us! Zane interrogated my uncle Christoph who was currently serving as a 2nd counselor in his bishopric, haha. I have to say, that it was fun to be at some meetings together (since I was serving as the RS Secretary at the time), and to witness my husband serve the Lord so well and with so much dedication and love!
